DJs, Dancing and Posing–No, it’s not a Party, it’s Dance Yoga!

If you enjoy partying and your work-and-party routine is not leaving you with enough time for exercise, worry not because now you can resort to dance yoga. A form of yoga incorporated with dance moves, a Dance Yoga session is great fun, and proves to have positive effects on your body.

A major hit event at the Wanderlust 108 Festival, the dance yoga party consisted of music spun by a DJ and host named MC Yogi. The dance steps included different exercise moves like Crescent Lunge and Revolved Side Angle. The crowd followed instructions given by the emcee and the entire audience shifted from one pose to the other in sync. It was a beautiful experience!

Yoga, as a medium of being healthy and fit, is evolving everywhere. With dance yoga, MC Yogi wants people “dig down and discover where it comes from, how it relates to them, and how they can really move it forward so that it can benefit humanity”. There are also studios such as Ritual Yoga, which are specifically dedicated to a rhythm-based practice, making the connection between dance and yoga stronger than ever. Dance yoga is a great fitness practice, and if practised regularly can prove to be absolutely life-changing.
